Gareth Jones BDS

GDC Number: 82402

I graduated from Liverpool University’s School of Dentistry in 2003, where I was awarded the HR Williams prize for oral surgery.

I take pride in providing high-quality dentistry in a relaxed, gentle and unhurried manner and enjoy meeting people and getting to know them as their treatment progresses. It gives me a real sense of satisfaction when I show people the results of their treatment and see their expressions. I also enjoy learning about different techniques and treatments that can benefit my patients.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two boys. I’m a keen athlete and in recent years have completed several triathlons, including an Ironman, and two marathons.

Cameron Currie

Dentist with special interest in endodontics

GDC Number: 112792

I graduated from Bristol Dental School in 2007 and following further study and examination I was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons by the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2011.

In 2013 I successfully completed a two-year diploma in Endodontic Sciences at the world-renowned UCL Eastman Dental Institute. I continue my studies in this area and have completed training in the UK and abroad.

My clinical practice is limited to endodontics and I take referrals from dentists within the practice and also the surrounding area. Using the latest and most advanced equipment coupled with excellent clinical skills allows me to perform treatment to the highest standards ensuring the highest chance of success.

I am an empathetic dentist who does my utmost to put patients at ease and ensure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout all stages of treatment.

Tina Coopey

Hygienist and dental therapist

GDC Number: 2823

I qualified as a hygienist in 1984 from Liverpool Dental Hospital and then as a dental therapist in 2005. I am a member of the British Dental Hygienist and Therapist Association as well as the Gloucester Independent Hygienists.

I am experienced in all aspects of hygiene work and am particularly interested in the latest studies that are starting to confirm that poor oral health is not only associated with many chronic illnesses but can actually be a causative factor.

I have worked with Gareth before at his previous practice and have known him and Chantel for years. Some patients may remember me as I worked with Gareth’s predecessor here more than 10 years ago.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking and keeping fit.

Emma Maddox

Practice manager and dental nurse

GDC Number: 163680

I started working as a dental nurse in 1998 and qualified in 2000. I have mainly worked in a general dental practice, however, I previously worked for three years in a specialist orthodontic practice as an orthodontic nurse, and with a visiting periodontist and implantologist.

I like being challenged on a daily basis and as a friendly, outgoing person I enjoy meeting new people, which means my job is ideal. I enjoy all aspects of dental nursing, especially patient interaction and making sure the patient is happy and comfortable.

Over the last few years, I have taken on more responsibilities, taking on more reception work and am now training to be the practice manager.

My son and my dog keep me on my toes at home! In my free time, I like to read, go to the gym, watch old movies, walk the dog and nose around antique shops.

Chantel Bryce

Dental nurse

GDC Number: 174972

I have been dental nursing since 2008, after qualifying from Bristol Dental School. I love what I do, as the role is quite varied making each day different. I also work on reception on occasions, which is a great way to get to know our patients better.

I enjoy working with people and find the ability to relate to patients very rewarding. I have been a member of the team since Gareth started here in July 2011. We all work very well together; we have a good work ethic and enjoy each other’s company making it a pleasant place to work. This creates a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for our patients, as we all understand that the majority of patients are particularly nervous.

I have three delightful children, Erin, Aidan and Luke. My hobbies apart from the kids are swimming, biking, walking and surfing whenever the time and opportunity arise.

Jo Phillips

Jo Phillips

Dental nurse

GDC Number: 207532

I have been working as a dental nurse since 2009. I joined the Monmouth Dental Practice team a few years ago and I feel I have settled in well. I enjoy meeting new people and helping to provide a calming, caring service to the many lovely patients here.

I enjoy all aspects of dental nursing whilst helping to maintain the high standards Gareth and the rest of the team provide for his patients.

I am also a mum of two girls, which takes up a lot of my free time. When not running them about I enjoy other hobbies including massage. I like sports but not quite as much as Gareth! I have an interest in playing badminton and swimming, when I can, and am partial to a long walk on a sunny winter’s day.

Flick Jones

Flick Jones

I am Gareth’s Mum and I joined the practice in April 2015. Having grown up in Uganda, I returned to this country when I was 14 and we eventually settled in Herefordshire.

After leaving school, I trained for a career in hospitality management, which resulted in working in different sectors of the industry, all of which have brought their own challenges but I loved it.

After many years at a local hotel, it felt like the time had come to cut back on the hours. Working with people has always been the best part of my career so joining the team here as a part time receptionist is ideal for me.

Although I like many crafts, my main hobby is bobbin lacemaking. I enjoy designing patterns and teaching new lacemakers and my youngest recruit is Gareth’s older son, Osian, who is a natural.

With the “kids” having left home I have been able to travel more to some great locations. When time allows, I also enjoy reading and spending time with the family.
